Muttenz Marathon

The 14th edition of the ‘Muttenz Marathon’ took place on Sunday, March 10, 2024.

The course leads over two laps with 500 meters of altitude difference each. The 1000 vertical meters were intended as preparation for the next marathon, which will have around 1800 vertical meters.

Reichenau Marathon

The second edition of the ‘Reichenau Marathon’ took place on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

After starting in Tägerwilen, the route led via Kreuzlingen around the island of Reichenau and then back to Tägerwilen via Wollmatingen and Constance.

Leap year marathon

On February 29, 2024, the first leap year marathon took place in Zurich as part of the 4th Hardhof Marathon.

The marathon was organized by Christian Marti.

It was Beat Knechtle’s 5th marathon since the start of the year and marathon number 434.

After two hours of jogging, Beat Knechtle is only slowly warming up.

The endurance athlete and doctor from Eastern Switzerland takes part in the toughest long-distance competitions in the world on foot, by bike and by swimming and is the first person in the world to have completed more than 300 Ironman distances in competition.

re-premiere of the Mostindien Marathon

On February 20, 2024, the preview of the Mostindien Marathon took place.

This marathon will be held a total of 5 times as part of the Eastern Switzerland Marathon Days 2024.

As the crowds for this preview were very large, organizer Christian Marti had to stagger the start times.

Pre-premiere of the 1st Freidorf Marathon

The 3 runners, Ursula Zünd, Christian Marti, and Beat Knechtle, celebrated the preview of the 1st Freidorf Marathon. The aim was to test the course in a competitive marathon before the first official Freidorf Marathon, which takes place in May as part of the Eastern Switzerland Marathon Days.
